This squib examines how traditional marriage is done among the Wimbum, and what the dowry or bride price consists of amongst others. In the Wimbum land when the girl and her fiancé are ready for the traditional marriage, the girl first informs her biological parents. The parents immediately send her and her fiancé to the village. The girl's parents neither accompany them nor ask anything from the man because, according to the tradition, they are forbidden to do such a thing as it may cost their lives if they do it.
